Background

Feedback is sought on:

  • Leasing Community Land - land occupied by Naracoorte and District Table Tennis Association

The Naracoorte and District Table Tennis Association has held a lease over portion of the land at 10 Price Avenue, Naracoorte also known as Memorial Oval and Parklands for the past 23 years. The lease expired on 30 June 2017.

Council is proposing to enter into a lease agreement with Naracoorte and District Table Tennis Association for the parcel of Community Land identified as:

  • Portion of Allotment 101, contained in Certificate of Title Volume 5949 Folio 535 or 10 Price Avenue, Naracoorte SA 5271

Memorial Oval and Parklands is owned by Council and is classified as Community Land under section 193 of the Local Government Act, 1999 and the associated Community Land Management Plan designates its use as a Table Tennis facility

Council is proposing that a Peppercorn Lease is issued for a term of twenty-one (21) years with a right of renewal for a further twenty-one (21) years.
The new Lease is to coincide with the conclusion of the previous lease and therefore, commencement date is to be 1 July 2017.

The Lease is for LAND ONLY and all buildings and infrastructure is owned by "Naracoorte and District Table Tennis Association."


Why is Council consulting the community?

Before granting a lease or licence for Community Land, under the Local Government Act 1999, Council must consult the community.

All land owned by Council or under a Council's care, control and management is Community Land unless the Council has resolved to exclude the land from classification as Community Land.
