What are the objectives of Naracoorte Lucindale Council's community consultations?
To provide opportunities for you to contribute your thoughts, feelings and ideas on a range of Council projects and activities. Engaging online allows you to have your say in Council's decision making process in your own time and comfort. It is quick, safe and convenient way to have your say on a range of topics. It is a great way to keep up to date and contribute your views on topics affecting your community. You can see what other community members think about a topic, respond with your own views and engage in a discussion. It allows a range of people with different views to discuss matters that impact on the community.
How can I participate in the online consultations?
If you have not previously participated simply click on the "Register" button at the top right hand of the page, when prompted create a SCREENNAME (Note: your comments will appear under your screen name and you can comment anonymously through a screen name of your choice) create a PASSWORD of your choice provide a valid email address, your age, gender and the location in which you live. If you have previously participated simply click on the "Sign In" function located on the right hand side of the top tool bar.
Yes! Your privacy is absolutely protected and Council and the site's host, Bang the Table, will only use your email to contact you with updates and to invite you to participate in consultations. Your email address will not be distributed to any third party or used for any others purpose. We do not ask for your personal details or require them at any time as part of your participation. All moderation is carried out by Bang the Table and all moderation is independent of Council. The moderators do not edit or alter any comments and will only remove comments deemed to be significantly off topic, disrespectful to other participants, offensive or malicious, in which case they are removed from the site immediately. Refer to the moderation guidelines.
All comments, ideas and suggestions are collated and used to inform the development of strategies, programs and activities, or to gain an insight into community views and opinions. Often, feedback provided online is used in conjunction with other face-to-face consultation activities such as workshops, meetings, open days or surveys. When each consultation closes, all contributions are compiled into a report, which will be presented to Council when considering the particular matter. A copy of the report will also be posted on Your Say Naracoorte Lucindale, removing any identification. All feedback provided during consultation will be considered, however this does not mean that every suggestion can be taken on board and adopted as proposed.
