As part of the Lucindale Masterplan, Council and the Lucindale Working Group have been working towards the development of the three Lucindale Entrance Statements to be located on Gum Ave, Country Club Road and Avenue Road.
Council has received feedback that the Yakka design on the proposed Entrance Statements are not aligned to the original Yakka logo that the Lucindale community has come to know.
Council resolved in July 2022 to undertake a community vote on the preferred option for the installation of a Yakka on the new Town Entrance Statements, budgeted to be completed in the 2022-2023 financial year.

VOTING CLOSES FRIDAY 2 SEPTEMBER 2022
Yakka - Option 1
Council and the Lucindale Working Group undertook public consultation on the Town Entrance concept designs, using a modified Yakka which is an extract of the Naracoorte Lucindale Council logo. The intent was to refresh and modernise the Yakka for installation on the Entrance Statements. Upon the completion of the consultation period, Option 1 (shown below) was voted the most popular with 46.4% of the 72 submissions received.
Yakka - Option 2
In 1977 a competition was held for the design of a Lucindale emblem to be used in time for the 100 years celebrations of the Lucindale Council (1978). The winner was Lucindale student Jan Wilson. The significance of the logo is that the area of Lucindale was covered in Yakkas before land clearing began. The emblem was formerly registered as the district logo by the Lucindale Council.
