Consultation has concluded
Update
At the Council meeting held in September 2017, Council considered the community consultation received and adopted the Public Consultation and Community Engagement Policy.
There are many instances when the community is invited to be involved in Council's decision making processes. This usually occurs through public consultation and / or community engagement.
The Public Consultation and Community Engagement Policy sets out the steps Council will follow in cases where Council must undertake public consultation as well as setting out the steps when Council chooses to involve the community in council decision-making.
The Local Government Act 1999 requires Council to prepare and adopt a Policy relating to public consultation, and the procedures and methods of consultation which the Council intends to use when consulting the community.
