Naracoorte Lucindale Council is proud to be working with Wellbeing SA, Office for Recreation Sport and Racing, Department of Human Services and other State Government departments on the Naracoorte Lucindale Wellbeing Program.
After a challenging year with the COVID-19 pandemic and more recent bushfires, Council is pleased to be able to work in partnership over the coming months to support community wellbeing and resilience.
This partnership will allow Council to deliver a localised program supporting physical, social, mental and community wellbeing.
An exciting program of activities and events has been developed with a focus on helping young people, families and older residents to stay connected and physically active.
Planned activities include:
An eight-week ‘Good Life’ holistic wellbeing program for older adults
School holiday activities delivered at the Naracoorte & District Sports Centre
Regular walking groups and a ‘10,000 Steps’ community challenge
Yoga in Naracoorte's Memorial Parklands across six weekends
Youth art project culminating in an augmented reality public mural
Family-friendly outdoor cinema event at the Naracoorte Swimming Lake
Come and Try events with local special interest clubs
How can you get involved?
Naracoorte Lucindale Council would like to hear from the community on what you think about the planned activities and events, which will help us make the activities more accessible and support wider engagement for community members.
We would also be interested in hearing about ideas for other activities and events that support community health and wellbeing that could be held in the future.
You can provide feedback on the planned activities through the online survey below - you will need to register first by going to the Signup Banner - or by emailing council@nlc.sa.gov.au with the subject title "Naracoorte Lucindale Wellbeing Program Feedback". Hard copies of the survey form will also be available from the Council offices in DeGaris Place, Naracoorte.
