Survey forms filled out immediately after the final curtain call of the local performance of 'Carpe Diem' in the Naracoorte Town Hall last week were full of positives, and now that you've had a bit more time to think about it, we'd like to know how the show has inspired you since!
under the Statewide Wellbeing Strategy, 'Carpe Diem' was a contemporary portrayal of Australian males dealing with issues of health, grief, loss and depression.
Set in a fictional town in inland Australia, 'Carpe Diem' portrayed the friendship of Nev, a hard-working farmer, and John, his stock-agent friend. Both had been impacted by the long-running drought, and were each fighting their own personal battles.
Starring acclaimed actors John Voce ('Downton Abbey' and 'Dr Who') and Grant Piro ('SeaChange' and 'Miss Fisher's Murder Mysteries'), it has been acclaimed for delivering mental health messages in a way that is entertaining, immediate and highly relevant, stressing the importance of mateship and professional care in times of crisis.
