There was no feedback received in relation to Council's by-laws.
Council at its meeting held on 27 June 2017 adopted the five by-laws.
The by-laws have been referred to the Legislative Review Committee.
The by-laws will commence operation 4 months from the date that they were published in the Gazette (unless disallowed by Parliament) which will be 13 November 2017.
BACKGROUND
How many dogs should you be allowed to keep? What sort of signs should businesses be allowed to put on the footpath? What activities should be allowed in Council's parks and gardens? Should camping be allowed on the side of Council's roads?
These are some of the issues that are regulated by Council's by-laws.
The purpose of by-laws are to ensure the good rule and government of the area, and for the convenience, comfort and safety of its community.
The Naracoorte Lucindale Council is reviewing the following by-laws:
sets standards for moveable signs on roads and to provide conditions for the placement of signs for the purpose of protecting visual amenity and public safety
limits the number of dogs kept on premises and for the management and control of dogs in the Council’s area
Members of the public are invited to comment on the proposed By-laws.
The by-laws can be viewed at Council's offices or online (available on the right or by clicking on the links above).
