Naracoorte Caves Connection Business Workshop

Ice age foods, trails, a mega fauna playground, themed accommodation and adopt a bat are a few of the ideas generated at a Business Workshop held as part of the Naracoorte Caves Connection project.

The aim of the workshop, held by the Naracoorte Lucindale Council in early November and attended by around 30 businesses, was to generate ideas that leverage value from the Naracoorte Caves and grow tourism and the visitor economy.

To start the creative thinking, branding and marketing guru and Executive Chair of Brand SA Peter Joy provided a thought provoking presentation. To view the presentation click here.

“To compete nationally and internationally towns and main streets need to focus on their unique characteristics, strengths, stories and specialities. Unique for Naracoorte is the World Heritage Listed Naracoorte Caves” Peter Joy said.

Peter asked the group “What do you have that visitors would find meaningful?”. Personal meaning = things we value, things that make life easier, things that make life better, things that make life more enjoyable, things that make life more secure. What locals may see as disadvantages can offer something meaningful for visitors.
